Lavender Passion

Lavender Passion is a small home-based business with a passion for lavender and aromatherapy.

Our product range covers a variety of industries, including Aromatherapy, Health & Beauty, Giftware, Culinary, etc. We manufacture a top quality, most reasonably priced aromatherapy range themed naturally, but not exclusively, around that magic herb; lavender! My husband Graeme and I are both professional artists and as well as selling a variety of original artwork for both corporate and individual clients, we also manufacture a unique range of ceramics, again with a lavender theme. Each piece of pottery is most importantly marked "Made in Australia"

We have been operating now for about 8 years and our love affair with lavender began after a chance visit to Ballarat and the Yuulong Lavender Farm. It wasn't long after that we began planting our crop of 3,000 lavender plants. We opened a gallery and retail shop on our lavender farm and began our joyous foray into retailing and wholesaling.

Having previously had a shop in Bendigo for 12 months, we have quite a large retail client base although, as we have sold the farm (but kept the business) the focus for us has shifted quite dramatically to wholesaling and exporting. We believe passionately in "one to one" customer service and endeavour to let all our customers, retail or wholesale, know how important they and their business are to us. I feel very strongly about showing our customers how much we value them and we pride ourselves on going that extra mile to satisfy.

Our challenges at the moment, as with most small Australian businesses, are trying to keep our prices reasonably consistent amidst constantly rising costs, (fuel, freight, general supplier increases, etc.), and this is always difficult. Our biggest challenge by far is trying to source the cheapest reliable freight carrier to deliver our products to customers. This is difficult enough throughout Australia but trying to compete in a global market is extremely hard for a small business such as ourselves.

Our success comes from nothing more than sheer hard work and determination. If you have a good product, believe wholeheartedly in it, and are willing to go that extra mile for your customers you are 95% there. The other 5% is targeted advertising, good marketing and trying to keep on top of the legacy of Mr. Howard's BAS. To stay ahead of your competitors you need to constantly re-focus and re-assess your goals and attitude towards the people who support you.

But the passion lives on and I do love this business so much! Being an artist, the opportunity to create and invent new products, constantly refining and improving the existing ones is pure heaven. Our Company, although small, has developed a trustworthy and reliable reputation with our customers over the years and we are extremely proud of this.

We thankfully experience great demand for all our products, but the most popular by far is our Lavender Hand & Body Lotion and our Rich Facial Moisturiser. There is never stock on the shelf for these two and our customers tell us they have helped them with numerous skin complaints. I have formulated our creams to be highly moisturising yet non-greasy; very important for a woman as we are always "doing something with our hands".
