Knowing when to order can increase your profits substantially

Living in Australia we often travel along unaware of the customs of other countries. For example do you know there are several week long holidays in China when all factories shut down?

Imagine if you had an order in with your factory and a deadline to meet and they shut down for a week, delaying your deadline. Prior knowledge of the little things can make a big impact on your bottom line and your business success.

The process of getting samples made and sent to you and approved can be time consuming and you need to allow time for this process, as a good sample is vital to your success. Once you have the sample finalised and approved you are ready to place your order.

When to place an order is not something most people think about too much. Basically they think they order when they need stock. If you are importing you must factor in large amounts of time for sampling, production scheduling (getting in line behind other orders), quality inspections, pre shipping inspections and delivery of your goods to the wharf, then shipping them here, then processing at the Australian wharf and delivery to your premises.

Exhausted just thinking about it? JOLT Consulting can handle it all for you.

But we want you to know that peak periods exist in the ordering process in China. From October through to December is the peak period of ordering for the EU and USA markets.

A tiny Australian order will be pushed to the end of the line if you order in this period. Then you have Chinese New Year so factories can shut down for up to one month from late January thru to the end of February.

The best time to do sampling and ordering for products is the Australian winter (April – September). Get your goods on the ship by September and you will enjoy healthy summer sales in Australia without delay.
