Tell us about your business Beachside has been a recognised name in the Advertising and Creative industry for over 20 years, formally as Beachside Advertising and now as Beachside Creative. Beachside Creative is an outsourced creative and marketing agency specialising in Brand Building, POS, Web and Intranet, Illustration and Creative Design. Beachside Creative create memories that inspire consumers long after initial brand interaction. The team at Beachside Creative are passionate about the brands and companies that they work with and are always looking for new ways to improve their clients brand presence and market share within the community. Beachside Creatives team include copy writers, designers, marketing specialists, web designers and audio visual experts. 2. When and why did you start your business? When did we start? We launched Beachside at the end of last year, 2008. Why we started? It’s a simple story of 3 people having common ideals, sharing the same passions and believing that there really is a better way. Inevitably beachside was born. An amalgamation with the already successful Beachside Advertising was then sought, a dynamic new team of creative and marketing specialists to create a unique outsourced agency. 3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with of your business? On a personal level, I have achieved a huge sense of satisfaction knowing that we are staying true to our mission and ideals and actually achieving something that we're proud of. 4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business? Some of the challenges facing growing any small business is where and how to begin. By staying true to your business plan and biting off small chunks at a time have proven invaluable pieces of advice. Other challenges include finding financial security and investors. 5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business? An understanding of website optimisation is a key to promoting a small business. The internet provides you with a world wide shop window, and knowing how to use it and channel it's power correctly is worth it's weight in gold! Another key activity that has proven succesful in promoting Beachside has been the ability to network your existing contacts. We have found that people are willing to work with us and trust us because they already know who we are. 6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business? Not understanding a target market or presuming that you know has been detrimental at times 7. Name your favourite thing about your business Being the master of your own destiny and believing in and trusting the people that make your business what it is. 8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you? Predictable I realise, but I can't go past Sir Richard Branson. A true inspiration and living proof that if you believe in yourself and your idea, and you're passionate about making it work, go for it! 9. What are your plans for the future of your business? To stay true to who we are, follow our plan, not to get too greedy and enjoying everyday we're in business! Hopefully the rest will all fall into place 10.
