1. Tell us about your business

Boating 4x4 Camping sells quality boating accessories, 4x4 accessories, camping equipment, fishing tackle and caravan accessories.

2. When and why did you start your business?

Our business was started in 2007. The five categories in the business are the five things Ii love to do and therefore this business just suited me.

3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with of your business?

As business is still only young we haven't acheived the level of business we set out to but we are forever growing and getting to where we want to be.

4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business?

The biggest challenges for our business being purely an internet based business is getting the rankings to get regular customer base.

5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business?

We have spent many thousands on magazine advertising only to see no spikes in sales at all. SEO has given us a lot more at a lot less cost.

6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business?

Magazine advertising was very costly and not succeesful at all.

7. Name your favourite thing about your business

Every time i jump in the 4x4 or flick a lure or pitch the tent i am doing what i love but at the same time i am using the equipment i sell and aquiring great photos for the photo galleries.

8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you?

My inspiration comes from within but I do study all the larger businesses in my field and look at what makes them succesful.

9. What are your plans for the future of your business?

Eventually we will open a store front which will become head office for the web sales and eventually open other stores.

Have your goal but don't hurry to get there, just keep the focus and slowly head towards the goal, it may take time but the trip will be much clearer.
