Book Express1. Tell us about your business Book Express is an independent bookshop. We stock a large range of both new and second-hand books. Our extensive range includes Sci-fi, Fantasy, Romance, Thrillers, Horror, loads of non-fiction and currently, we are one of the leading stockists of Para-Normal Romance. 2. When and why did you start your business? The business started in 2006 from home with internet sales. We quickly out grew home and moved into the old Wanneroo Central. We then moved to a better premises at Woodvale Boulevard in 2008. 3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with of your business? We started as a home business and now have 3 staff and a larger range of books at competitive prices. 4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business? Rising leasing costs. Lack of interest from Australian Distributors and finding the right advertising medium. 5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business? Our web-site and word of mouth. 6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business? Local advertising in community newspapers. Mail post distribution of flyers. 7. Name your favourite thing about your business I get to read books for work. 8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you? Borders - A large 2 storey bookshop with its own cafe. 9. What are your plans for the future of your business? Expand to another shopping centre and include a cafe. 10. Share your best business tip with our readers. Hard work always win.
