1. Tell us about your business

It is a website for classified ads for all Australians to sell their unwanted new/used items with 5 images free of charge either locally or Australia-wide.

2. When and why did you start your business?

I started the company November 2008. I used to sell on Ebay but the only people that make money on Ebay are Ebay themselves with all the fees they charge. I also sold on Trading Post a bit but it was expensive to list anything. So I thought I would start a free site for all Australians to sell to Australians free of charge.

3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with of your business?

The website has grown in 10 months from 30 listings to 2500 listings so feel really happy that it is an expanding snowball.

4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business?

The challenge has been trying to get enough exposure to showcase and promote the site.

5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business?

I have used Google Adwords which has been very successful in growing my business every day.

6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business?

I advertised on the Radio in January for 3 weeks and this was not successful at all. Very expensive for the interest it created.

7. Name your favourite thing about your business

It's free and easy to list and sell all your items.

8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you?

Business people that inspire me are anyone that gives things a go and doesn't quit right away if they aren't making heaps. It takes 2-3 years to see a business plan into fruition.

9. What are your plans for the future of your business?

I will continue to grow my business by advertising and showcasing my site as an alternative to paid classified sites.
