Coconoir - Gifts of Inspiration1. Tell us about your business Coconoir offers gifts of inspiration, combining fine Swiss, Belgian and organic chocolate with inspiring gift books. I have a passion for reading and chocolates and so the business evolved to include both. The idea behind Coconoir was to inspire people to live their dreams and make a positive difference. 2. When and why did you start your business? The decision to commence the business came after 10 years of excuses for not doing it. The realization that unless you make the choices you want for you life, you will end up with life passing you by, regretful and empty. The ability to juggle family and work balance was also very important to me. 3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with of your business? Flexibility to balance life and work commitments. An inner happiness and joy for life. 4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business? Initially marketing the business, advertising was varied and costly. Also being attached to my original concept for the business which was purely to have chocolate hampers. Being attached to your vision if it was not working does not allow you to focus on new opportunities. Acquiring new skills such as web design and management. 5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business? Word of mouth recommendation and networking. 6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business? Leaflet distribution and market stalls. It is so important to constantly review your marketing strategies and determine what works and what does not. What works for another company may not necessarily work for you. 7. Name your favourite thing about your business Being allowed to do something that I am absolutely passionate about and the flexibility to spend time with my family. 8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you? I admire people who irrespective of their own adversity and negative comments achieve success beyond their dreams. I have the utmost respect for Louise and Keith, business owners who openly share their resources, information and advice to encourage other business owners to pursue their dreams too. 9. What are your plans for the future of your business? To have personal gift packs available at hotels and airports for that great last minute gift for family and friends. 10. Share your best business tip with our readers. Donald Trump sums it up best 'Never ever give up, change direction if you have to but never ever give up.' Most people give up just when their business is about to take off - so never give up. Live your passion, live your dream. Visit us at: www.coconoir.com.au Paid Advertisements Below
