1. Tell us about your business

Specializing in quality solid timber furniture and decor, we design and manufacture individual and unique pieces that are made to last a lifetime. All work is proudly crafted in our Toowoomba workshop using Australian timber and Australian made products where possible.

2. When and why did you start your business?

We started our business 20 years ago because we are passionate about making quality timber furniture that is made to last, is unique and individually designed to suit our customers and is constructed using Australian timbers and products where possible.

3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with of your business?

We have achieved a more open and creative attitude towards furniture design and construction. We also have a greater appreciation for rustic furniture and timber in its natural state. Having done antique restoration for over 10 years, we can appreciate the detail and time that the old craftsmen put into a piece of furniture.

4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business?

More people are prepared to buy imported, roughly made, cheap furniture and a lot of customers expect to get handcrafted, solid timber, custom made, quality furniture for the same price as a factory made, particle board, mass produced piece of furniture.

5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business?

The most effective and successful form of advertising we have used has by far been signage in front of our business.

6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business?

Newspapers, Local Business Directories and Yellow Pages have been a total waste of time and money.

7. Name your favourite thing about your business

The freedom to create unusual and interesting pieces of furniture and seeing the joy on a customers face when they see their completed job.

8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you?

Honest, down to earth people who are creative and think outside the square.

9. What are your plans for the future of your business?

To continue creating beautiful, unique, quality, timber furniture that people want to put in their homes.
