FileMaker Pro is the #1 selling, award-winning, easy-to-use database software for Windows, Mac and the Web. It helps you manage people, projects, assets, events and much more. You can share this information with your colleagues using Macs, Windows or a mixture over your local network or the internet.

2. When and why did you start your business?

Originally started in 1995 under the registered name of Advanced Database Systems. Re-branded the company in 2010 to better reflect the business we specialise in... FileMaker software development. An awareness of the increased business need for a flexible, cost effective, rapid application development platform, for developing business solutions tailored to the small to medium business community.

3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with of your business?

The satisfaction of having helped so many small, medium and corporate departments achieve a far greater level of productivity & efficiency gains, across a broad spectrum of industry verticals - by providing them with the tools & ideas for working smarter.

4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business?

Dealing with IT departments ignorant of the benefits of incorporating FileMaker into their Standard Operating Environments as they appear to regard it as a threat to their own existence!

5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business?

Website SEO and good old fashioned word of mouth.

6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business?

Direct marketing and cold calling in the pre-web days...

We get to provide professional services across a broad cross-section of valued client from diverse industries.

8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you?

Any business that provides a service that genuinely makes a difference. The entrepreneurs that challenge the incumbents and keep them honest, like Richard Branson and the Virgin Group.
