1. Tell us about your business

Perfectly situated 50 STEPS to the renowned family Front Beach and Cosy Corner in Torquay Vic. 3 stylish beach houses each 2 bedroom with all private facilities.

2. When and why did you start your business?

2007, to provide affordable beach holidays to families and couples and for me to have the flexibility of running it from home.

3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with of your business?

A professional image to the accommodation and some beach essence and charm, with great customer focus.

4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business?

Not being from a tourism background, getting exposure for a small (one woman) business. Also website development. The website has only been going since end of 2008. We are midst of increasing features and some advertisng space to this plus a blog.

5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business?

The website and listing on other travel websites have been great. Also getting a professional logo and organising how to take bookings, co ordinate cleaning etc etc

6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business?

Advertising in a non traffic, low traffic space despite being told its FAB. Must research much more!

7. Name your favourite thing about your business

The freedom of running it from home, the customer focus and knowing I CAN DO IT.

8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you?

There are so many mums in business that inspire me to keep goin and many are great corporations, and many are just starting out with a great passion and committment.

9. What are your plans for the future of your business?

To get a blog up and running and feature other complimentary businesses and tourst things in the area, have some advertising to help with running of the website.

Passion/committment. Be self directed. Know when to say, and not to be afraid knowing the right target market in advertsising branding... be consistent enjoy what you do.
