Glen Eira Counselling Clinic1. Tell us about your business My business offers clients a confidential, inviting and a safe place to discuss personal issues and to find answers to difficult matters. Evening appointments are available due to work/family commitments. Medicare rebates are available to reduce costs to clients for up to 12 sessions! 2. When and why did you start your business? I have a natural talent with clients to make them feel understood and heard. From that clients are able to problem solve and express their emotions. 3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with your business? I have achieved enormous satisfaction and self belief in my ability to further grow the business with another colleague with endeavours to gain another counselling therapist. 4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business? Being able to promote myself to local GPs for new referrals given that local doctors are already so time pressured. 5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business? Writing client reports to their local GPs has improved the communication between doctors and myself as well as doctors gaining confidence in my abilities. 6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business? Pamphlets drop outs 7. Name your favourite thing about your business Promoting my name on my front signage still feels strange and unbelievable that my dream is coming true 8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you? Mainly women who juggle work and family commitments while creating a good balance of lifestyle. To take on a greater supervisory role of less experienced counsellors and to allow other counsellors to feed off the clinic name to generate more business. 10.
