1. Tell us about your business

It is an Online Shopping Directory and Information Service highlighting the best websites in Australia.

2. When and why did you start your business?

I began constructing the website about 2 and a half years ago, the plan being to make a website for Australian women to help them locate Australia\'s best shopping and information websites.

3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with of your business?

Personally, it has been very challenging but also very satisfying. I found out that I was creative and I had never considered myself to be before.

4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business?

Learning how to create a website that is appealing to women. I have made lots of mistakes both in the actual construction process and in the marketing. I am learning all the time.

5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business?

Facebook advertising is effective. Also press release distribution was a good idea.

6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business?

The hardest part is to attract advertising to my website.

7. Name your favourite thing about your business

I think I have achieved what I set out to do. I have created a website that is very useful and easy to navigate. I like the challenge of having to make it more attractive and I also like the blog.

8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you?

I read a book by Richard Branson. Not that I aspire to his heights but his message of keep trying is very motivational, especially when you look at his journey and how many perceived failures he had before he made it.

9. What are your plans for the future of your business?

I hope for my website to be relevant and useful for lots of people.

As long as you keep trying you will never fail. Take pleasure in your accomplishments, even if they didn't earn you a cent. Remain optimistic.
