1. Tell us about your business

Jalapeno is an Internet marketing consultancy, we specialise in highly customised and affordable online marketing, eCommerce and optimisation services for firms or all sizes.

2. When and why did you start your business?

After working in several industries and making lots of money for other people, we decided that we can provide an income and quality of life for ourselves; so Jalapeno was started in early 2007!

3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with of your business?

I'm really happy when clients rave about what we have done for their businesses - That's how I measure my achievement!

4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business?

Some business operators are getting a bit down - my challenge at the moment is to maintain positivity with everyone I come in contact with - To coin an early 90's Telstra bumper sticker: We refuse to participate in a recession!

5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business?

Although we market online and in print - Word of Mouth is the best promotion tool for us!

6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business?

Printed Directory Listings of a certain colour... I won't mention brands here :-)

7. Name your favourite thing about your business

I open up a new market for my clients - a new world of communicating, selling and community with their customers

8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you?

You can't go past Sir Richard Branson - the guy is an absolute dynamo!

9. What are your plans for the future of your business?

I want to build the team and empower them to be successful in their own right - to grow with the business!
