Tell us about your business Supply and installation of frameless and semi-frameless shower screens, mirrors, glass shelves and kitchen splashbacks. 2. When and why did you start your business? I started my business as subcontractor at "Stegbar" in Sydney in 2002. I established company "Lukic & Sons Pty Ltd. Why I did it is not easy to answer in a simple manner. It requires more time taking in account everything that was happening with and around me and my family. Briefly I needed to express myself somehow and that was one of the ways. 3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with of your business? Personal satisfaction, being able to show people my skills by doing a good job, earning money and being appreciated at the same time. 4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business? Gaining customers' trust, getting new ones and not being payed even though the job has been done in a more than a professional way. Advertising and getting closer to the targeted clientele. 5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business? Designing my own business cards, doing a great job always. advertising on Google ad-words. Establishing the merchant facility being able to take credit card payments and introducing 1300 tel number giving the potential customers option to call me for free and get the ideas about whatever was the reason for the call. 6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business? Newspapers adds and canvasing (because I wasn't prepared well) 7. Name your favourite thing about your business When I finish the job I see people happy and smiling. I like them appreciate my efforts to make it as good as possible 8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you? I am more inspired with the artists, painters, guitar makers. I am aiming more for the quality less for quantity. 9. What are your plans for the future of your business? To advertise and gain so many customers I can cope with by doing a good job and in time. 10. Share your best business tip with our readers. Try to do the job right no matter what's in the way Don't take more work than you can cope with and be honest with your customers People (customers) tend to be good if you respect them and their home. Do not over price your products. Price it fairly according to your skills and the quality of the materials you use to produce it. Have a positive attitude where ever you go.
