1. Tell us about your business

We are the leaders in the eyelash extension industry and now offer a national franchise. Although the core business is eyelash extensions, we have developed many unique beauty services for Men & Women.

2. When and why did you start your business?

2007, I discovered this in USA and it hadn't started yet in Australia, so I ran with the concept, difficult at first, as the products were so inferior but through persistence and determination, we now own the market and have a magnificent reputation.

3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with your business?

This was a major challenge for me and to develop a new business in an industry that hadn't started in this country and to now be recognised as the leaders, is absolutely magnificent for me.

4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business?

products were inferior, we had to keep requesting samples and then designing products ourselves and sourcing manufacturers to carry out our work. Staff and training were a nightmare, everyone I taught, ran off with my idea's, that's when I realised I had to franchise the business.

5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business?

Online marketing and Melbourne radio.

6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business?

Print media does not work for us.

7. Name your favourite thing about your business

Being the first in an industry to offer such a lucrative business to others, our franchise is so affordable and so very lucrative to young ladies that never even dreamed of owing their own business.

8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you?

People with courage, that take calculated risks, I love the Boost Juice story.

9. What are your plans for the future of your business?

BIG!! - National expansion with our franchise and to remain the leaders on the cutting edge of unique beauty in Australia and possibly in 3 or 4 years looking at international expansion.

Make sure your product and service is right, if you are in a competitive industry, you must have an edge, get rid of fear and replace it with courage and determination, if things aren't working, swallow your pride and make changes!!
