1. Tell us about your business

Our company is in the health and nutrition industry, operating in 72 countries around the world and rated in the top 10 companies on the New York Stock Exchange. We offer our clients a personal weight management service. Our company also has a range of vitamins and supplements as well as a range of skin care and personal toiletries for overall well-being and an overall healthier new you.

2. When and why did you start your business?

I got started with Herbalife back in Febrary. I needed to lose weight and started on the program and was so impressed with the products, that I started as a Distributor myself in February, so that I could help others achieve the weight loss success that I had.

3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with your business?

I have not only lost weight myself, and feel the healthiest I have ever felt in my life, but have had the opportunity to help others as well. The upside of all this, is that even though I started in this business to help others, I have started earning an income that I had only dreamt about and am now looking at a future where I can give up my other full time income and work from home doing what I love.

4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business?

Time Constaints. My full time job is very demanding and finding the time to work this new business around it has been extremely challenging, but worth it. Misconceptions. People have preconceived idea about Herbalife, sometimes good; sometimes bad. You have to overcome these, so that customers can experience the magic of the product, as I did. The product then "sells itself".

5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business?

I have used a combination of Google Adwords, pull tabs, flyers, free and paid advertising on various australian sites.

6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business?

Google Adwords. The cost of running the campaign by far exceeded the financial returns.

7. Name your favourite thing about your business

Seeing others achieve their weight loss and feel so good and confident about themselves. It's great working with such motivated people.

8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you?

Bill Gates. He made his dreams happen. He's an inspiration to us all, as to how we can change our lives if we're truly motivated.

9. What are your plans for the future of your business?

My business is going to explode. I am going to expand my business over the months ahead and give up my other full time job; then I can put all my energy into this business. The sky's the limit.

1. Be the product of the product. You can't sell to other what you haven't tried yourself. 2. Stay commited to you goals. Don't let anyone distract you from your dreams. 3. Your success is measured by the effort you put in. Success comes from hard work and commitment. 4. Don't be fooled by businesses making false promises of overnight success. Investigate the validity and track record of the company your considering signing up with. 5. Choose a business that offers ongoing training. I have entered into a couple of business opportunites that offer you the world, but fail to deliver. After the initial purchase of the business materials, you are then left to your own devices, with no ongoing advice to help you propel your business. Your out there alone.
