MDA Logistics Pty1. Tell us about your business Third party logistics provider, small to medium size, basically we are the warehouse operation for our clientele. We receive stock locally and internationally, receipt the stock, warehouse it, pick and pack it and prepare it for distribution interstate and intrastate. We monitor the stock levels and provide reports to account for all movements. we also specialise in the kitting of promotional items, corporate items, retails items and more, we do this for major Australian companies ranging from requests of 5k to 300k kits. 2. When and why did you start your business? Business commenced in April 2004. Been involved in the Logistics industry for quite sometime, had the opportunity from a client to do their work if I was prepared to open my own business, took the opportunity with much excitement and fear at the same time, the rest as they say is history. 3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with your business? Have had the opportunity to do work for major iconic Australian and Globally recognised companies, for a small player that is quite some acheivement in such a short time of operation 4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business? Competition from competitors who are hungry to lure your work their way. The sudden growth spurts and implications that brings with it. always staying in touch with what is happening with the industry, your competitors and ensuring you have a focused team with you. 5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business? Word of mouth, website, mailouts. 6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business? Cold canvasing, very hard to get to the right individual who looks after the area of business you are seeking... and the blatant "No thanks, dont need that service". 7.
