Tell us about your business Naturally Safe Cosmetics is an online retailer of natural, organic, herbal cosmetics, skin care & personal care products, such as cleanser, moisturiser, lipstick, foundation, bronzer, shampoo, toothpaste, etc. Our motto "giving nature a chance" reinforces our commitment to nature & the environment. Unlike many mainstream cosmetics & beauty products, all Naturally Safe brands are primarily made of natural ingredients; without petrochemicals, synthetics or other nasty chemicals. All products are cruelty free. 2. When and why did you start your business? September 2006 3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with of your business? On the personal level our greatest achievement has been seeing such a high rate of returning and happy customers. It gives you a warm glow to know that you must be doing something right. 4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business? Starting the business was quiet an achievement with a number of false start due to poor quality suppliers. Now that we are growing the biggest challenge is maintaining cash flow to fund expansion. 5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business? Online promotion such as pay per click advertising (eg Google Adwrods, etc), directories such as Shopseek, optimizing our web site for important searches, articles and building our own e-newsletter. 6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business? Unfortunately our "off net" marketing activities have been disappointing. We have tried a range of magazines and local papers, but they have not generated significant sales. 7. Name your favourite thing about your business Controlling my own destiny. 8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you? My partner who trusted in me enough to say "let's just do it" 9. What are your plans for the future of your business?
