Tell us about your business Organic Baby Clothes OnLine Store We sell world wide Specialise in Organic All In Ones, Organic Baby Lotions, Organic T Shirts, Organic Wraps, Organic Nappies, Maternity Wear, Toys, Accessories, Gift Vouchers and lots more. 2. When and why did you start your business? Started our business 3 years ago as I felt there was a need for organic baby clothes. It went from thinking to creating which I might add was a lot of work and money. 3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with of your business? Personal achievement has been huge satisfaction, learning along the way on how to create a website and now to running one. Meeting so many mums online and being apart of the community and business world. There is just something special when you go to your computer in the morning and see so many orders. 4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business? Getting the right people for helping you make a success of your business. What I have discovered is that you go in so many different directions, as you are not sure who to employ as a website consultant, designer and eventually you get the right one, but it takes time and courage to continue, as sometimes it wears you down that some companies are not genuine. But having said all of that, courage and persistence will get you there in the end if you decide to never give up. 5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business? Google - just love Google Articles Blogs Newsletters Ringing and thanking customers for their order Sending little gifts. 6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business? Employing a SEO company that was recommended to us by our Bank Manager. They were dishonest and distastous. We signed up for 12 months at $2500 per month and they did not do the job they were meant to do. We relied on their knowledge and were and still are a big company. 7. Name your favourite thing about your business Our mums and one of the things mums love is our cute little wand on the website when you are navigating up comes our little fairy wand. 8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you? Everyone that is having a go trying to make it with a small business as I know how determined you have to be. And how much you have to believe in yourself. 9. What are your plans for the future of your business? Finalising our Content Management System and making some great changes and adding more prizes and competitions and gaining more respect and friends along the way with our website. 10. Share your best business tip with our readers. Do you homework and by that I mean really check out who you are dealing with and get referrals and then compare them to other companies. Dont give up - rest if you must, but dont give up be prepared to spend the time you need to get results. Ask for help from other friendly people who have websites. Articles - Get a blog and do an article each week - Google loves Articles Join Clubs so as to expose your business Email Marketing Twitter, FaceBook, Stumbleupon etc. - get your products out there and start chatting to the people you are wishing to see your website. Newsletter Subscriptions - offer something for people to join up. Domain Hosting - essential - there are so many out there, but get an Australian one and one that operates 24 hours seven days a week with support so you can ring them anytime for help. Invest in a good computer so you can manage your website. Look at markets if this is the right option for you. Thousands of people love to see what you have to sell and this could be a great opportunity to sell your last years stock for less and giving the consumer a great bargain and then give out your business card so they can contact you again.
