1. Tell us about your business

PRglow Candles is enviro - friendly, I make Natural Soy Wax Candles for Weddings and all special events.

2. When and why did you start your business?

I started Making Candles 15 years ago, went into the Natural Soy range around 3 years ago to protect the environment and officially launched my business nearly 3 years ago too. Candle Making was always a Hobby, I love it.

3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with of your business?

I have met some wonderful people through Expos and personal sales and having the Freedom of working from home allows me to still concentrate on whats important to me - Family.

4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business?

Financially it has been tough, Juggling being a single Mum, Kids activities and the Business have definately been challenging, working out the budget has not been easy, but it definately keeps the brain working hard on all levels and I love that too.

5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business?

Wedding Expos have been the best exposure for my business and advertising in the yellow pages.

6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business?

Local advertising in the local papers have come up Nil, I advertised big in several local papers for several months in a row and had not one customer from it, cost me alot of money, But I guess you never know if you dont give it a go.

7. Name your favourite thing about your business

Making the Candles, Pouring in the pure essential oils and putting on all the personal touches to make the candle special for the customers is the best part.

8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you?

Richard Branson inspires me, but really I have learnt to inspire myself and be motivated and proud of my own achievements.

9. What are your plans for the future of your business?

I plan to expand to full time, rather than part time, would love to hire an employee or two and eventially move to a bigger premises where more candles can be turned over in a day.

Keep Dreaming Big and dont listen to those who tell you to do something else. If you love what you do, Live it, believe it and enjoy.
