1. Tell us about your business

We carry groups of people from A to B at a reasonable cost. We have 8 minibuses that can carry 13 passengers, one that can carry 24 and a chauffeured car that seats 4 in luxury. We also specialise in winery tours around SA.

2. When and why did you start your business?

Business started in 1992 with one taxi and just grew with demand. We like to serve people by providing affordable transport for them.

3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with of your business?

The satisfaction of running a very successful business with drivers that are loyal, hardworking and a pleasure to have working for us.

4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business?

Trying to afford yet another bus to cope with the increasing demands of a fickle public and education department. Keeping buses in tip top condition all year round.

5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business?

6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business?

Yellow pages. What a rip off. Way to dear for what they provide. Letterbox drops of business cards were also a waste of time.

7. Name your favourite thing about your business

The thanks we get when passengers alight after an 8 hour winery tour. Thank you gifts are quite common.

8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you?

Des's Mini Bus for one. Adelaide Dial-A-Bus for another. It is really great to have friends in the industry who go out of their way to help you.

9. What are your plans for the future of your business?

To survive tendering processes which is becoming all the rage in the govt. Sigh.

Don't buy on credit. Doesn't matter how badly you need that new equipment. If you haven't got the cash, then wait until you do. We have seen businesses go under because of too much credit, too little profit.
