Rodeo Drive Jewellery is an online sterling silver jewellery store. We specialise in Swarovski crystals and pearls, with really unique and different designs.

2. When and why did you start your business?

Rodeo Drive was started in 2008 and arose out of a lifelong passion for silver jewellery.

3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with of your business?

On a personal level I have learnt persistance and determination are my key traits. Without this Rodeo Drive Jewellery would not be here.

4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business?

Learning from our mistakes... which can be costly. You can be prepared and read and listen to all the business advice in the world, but everyone will make mistakes. It's inevitable. Have a good business plan that minimizes them.

5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business?

Online business directories are great. Forums, articles and reviews. Getting as much exposure as you can online.

6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business?

We can't say one acitivity was less successful than another... all paths lead you to a new one and you learn, so its all successful in a way.

7. Name your favourite thing about your business

Being my own boss and our designs... I love them all.

8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you?

The Poppy lipstick story was inspiring

9. What are your plans for the future of your business?

Our next step is to wholesale to jewellers and online gift stores.

Never give up on a business idea... it may take awhile, and you may have a few different ones along the way, but don't lose sight that you can be your own boss one day!
