1. Tell us about your business

The Daily Scoop is the premier handmade ice cream in Albury-Wodonga known for its freshness and great taste.

2. When and why did you start your business?

We started in 2007 after realising that in comparison to demand there are very few good quality ice cream stores in Australia.

3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with of your business?

We have built a great reputation and have a recognised brand locally, and our product also got recognition by wining a gold and several silver medals at the Royal Sydney Show in 2010.

4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business?

Within the area the population base is not large enough to support a specialised business like ours and we are looking to expand later this year.

5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business?

We have successfully promoted our business through schools, advertising in local newsletter, sponsoring sports clubs and by distributing leaflets through tourist information centres.

6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business?

We have not had great response from newspaper advertising.

7. Name your favourite thing about your business

It is always exciting to see how our product puts a smile on every customer's face.

8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you?

Several people who have built their business and reputation on delivering consistently a high quality product to their customers.

9. What are your plans for the future of your business?

Expand by teaching others the unique way to make the best ice cream in the world.
