1. Tell us about your business

At The Pole Gym we combine Fun, Dance and Fitness to deliver the exciting sport of pole dancing to all women. At The Pole Gym we have a course to suit you no matter whether you’re new to pole or an experienced in the world of pole and looking to try something new.

2. When and why did you start your business?

The Pole Gym directors are a group of individual pole studio owners who have come together to share their collective passion of combining fun, dance and fitness to deliver an incredible pole experience for all women to try.

3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with your business?

With our unique and vibrant studio settings, we all have different things to offer, but our ever-growing family of pole addicts proves that we have the right mix of products to consistently deliver results to our students.

4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business?

The hardest challenge to overcome is the stigma that pole dancing has from years of being kept out of the fitness world. We strive to make sure all our studios are warm and friendly and fitness orientated.

5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business?

Our in house Pole Parties. Every twelve weeks we host a party which allows our students an opportunity to invite friends and family along to watch them perform the dances that they have been learning. These are heaps of fun with lots of games and prizes to be won.

6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business?

Doing anything in the pubs and clubs as this just seems to enforce the stigma that we have tried so hard to shake. Pole dancing is and should be promoted as a sport first and foremost.

7. Name your favourite thing about your business

The confidence women get after coming to us for even a short time. Their self esteem tends to increase way before their muscles.

8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you?

Lorna Jane, she has grown an entire business out of making women feel good about getting fitter and that is what we are all about.

9. What are your plans for the future of your business?

To continue to inspire women of all ages get fit , have fun and dance like the whole world is watching, yet not give a dam.
