Walktime1. Tell us about your business Walktime provides a professional dog walking service. Walktime comes to you, is fully insured and takes the stress out of dog ownership. Walktime operates throughout the Gold Coast and caters to all dogs, old, young, large and small. 2. When and why did you start your business? Walktime was launched in March 2010, for two main reasons. One being to provide a quality, professional dog walking service across the coast, the second being simply because I myself love animals and feel strongly about the importance of providing them with a great quality of life. 3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with your business? I have created, launched and am now running the business I dreamed of owning. It is fantastic to be able to use the skills and experience I have gained over many years in my own business and watch it come to life. 4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business? Obvioulsy having very limited funds to get the business started, having to learn some new skills with regards to online marketing, and straight out negativity from some people who did not believe in the business. 5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business? Local media has been fantastic, also the support of family and frineds to help promote the business. 6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business? Probably letter box drops, however this is a great brand building exercise. 7. Name your favourite thing about your business Lifestyle choice it gives me 8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you? Ripple Massage, the owner Alison Shaw is an amazing business woman, and of course people like Richard Branson who deomstrate how important it is to keep going and believe in your business. 9. What are your plans for the future of your business? Operate throughout the Coast and Brisbane. 10. Share your best business tip with our readers.
