Tell us about your business Youngstar Educational Products are an Australian based online retailer focusing on wooden toys, educational toys and learning toys for children aged from birth to 10 years. We deliver Australia wide and offer a free gift wrapping and gift card service to make your online shopping experience enjoyable, easy and fast. We stock a range of trusted brands including Melissa and Doug, Boikido, Plan Toys, Djeco and Le Toy Van just to name a few. 2. When and why did you start your business? Youngstar Educational Products is owned and operated by a husband and wife team who were frustrated with the selection of toys available to them in rural Victoria. Upon discovering the amazing selection of good quality, traditional and educational toys in the market place we decided to open up our own store ... hence the birth of Youngstar, a store to display these products whilst catering for a range of budgets. 3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with of your business? Not having an IT background, I have learnt so much in the past year and one of my goals was to try and break down the IT barrier to ensure customers were dealing with a person and being able to achieve that so far has been great! 4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business? Having the store reflect me and what I want it to, it is still evolving, I am increasing various ranges such as Melissa and Doug, Boikido, Janod and Djeco, it is definitely hard work, but so much fun! 5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business? Search engines and directories have been great. 6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business? I have been very selective so I am happy with everything done to date. 7. Name your favourite thing about your business Being a big kid at heart, looking at all the new wooden and educational toys on the market ... how much fun is it to decide what to buy! 8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you? I am inspired by my customers and their feedback to contiually do better and make the experience positive. 9.
