We were sick and tired of staying in expensive hotels and we wanted to experience holidays 'like a local' by staying in the homes of locals while on holiday! And our desire to offer Australians a fun and affordable holiday alternatively lead to HouseSwapHolidays.com.au being born! 3. On a personal level, what have you achieved with your business? HouseSwapHolidays.com.au is now one of the fastest growing holiday clubs around - and has since been featured on Lonely Planet, A Current Affair, The Age, SMH and many more! 4. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in growing your business? Helping put the word out that house swapping is a fantastic way to holiday and it is remarkably easy for people to save many hundreds or thousands of dollars on holiday expenses. 5. What activities have been successful in promoting your business? Primarily just word of mouth. We don't usually advertise much as most people join because they have heard great home swapping stories from other members 6. What activities were less successful for marketing your business? We only do very limited marketing so its difficult to say 7. Name your favourite thing about your business Just the concept - its original and fun. Our members love the idea 8. Who or what other businesses or business people inspire you? Business people who inspire me personally are really those that give back to the community. We're less interested about lining shareholders pockets but want to be a business that genuinely makes a difference in peoples lives 9. What are your plans for the future of your business?
