Black Swan – A real Australian success storyThe Black Swan theory, made popular by Nassim Nicholas Taleb to explain the existence and occurrence of high–impact, hard–to–predict, and rare events is not applicable to this local hero of the same name. Australia’s favourite dip manufacturer, Poseidon Black Swan, last week laid the foundation stone at its new $4.8 multi–million dollar plant extension in Clayton, Victoria. Launched by The Hon. Simon Crean, Minister for Trade and Federal Member for Hotham, he congratulated the Black Swan family on taking the next step in their exciting expansion plans and noted the significance of seeing such a strong family business still growing and thriving after 35 years. This was not Crean’s first visit to the Black Swan manufacturing plant. He previously launched the first development almost 10 years ago and is an avid supporter of local businesses in his electorate. Crean is not the only fan, almost every Australian household loves Black Swan. Voting with their feet, Australian’s purchased over 20 million Black Swan dip units last year. Black Swan an iconic Australian success story...
"We are the original dip. We were the first to market delivering fresh, flavourful dip products and we are still doing this today. I believe this is why we continue to hold our number one position& said Con Saris, Director for Black Swan "Our family’s passion and the original brand principles have not been lost since we founded the business so many years ago. We like to think of our operations as one big family kitchen and if we don’t eat it at home, we don’t sell it. There is no compromise" he said. Con believes that Black Swan has a very bright future. "With our successful entry into the yoghurt category and the completion of our plant extension, there are big things ahead for this little Black Swan (or should I say big...)".
