Pitch Club – calling all entrepreneurs and investors!Ten entrepreneurs will be pitching their ideas to a crowd of investors, business angels, VCs and other entrepreneur enthusiasts from a miniature boxing ring when Pitch Club returns to Melbourne on Thursday 25th June 2009. Pitch Club is partnering with the Melbourne Angels group, founding members of AAAI (Australian Association of Angel's Investors) for this Melbourne event. With Jordan Green as guest speaker (co-founder of AAAI and Melbourne Angels), a feedback panel of Melbourne Angels investors, and the usual raving crowd of 150+, the nine selected pitchers and the ‘lucky pitcher’ drawn on the night will have plenty of audience material to work on. Pitch Club is a fun, fast and furious networking event like no other and is back in Melbourne following a successful September 2008 event and Australian tour. Pitch Club provides an opportunity for nine entrepreneurs (and one drawn on the night) to ‘step into the ring’ and 'pitch' their idea for 90 seconds. The audience of potential investors and other interested parties decide who makes it to the final round, where finalists have the opportunity to interact for another five minutes with the audience through their pitch and a Q&A. The entrepreneurs in the ring have the opportunity to ask for other types of assistance they may need to start or grow their business – whether it is strategic advice, mentoring services or other resources. Pitch Club brings together people interested in matters related to entrepreneurship, new business creation and growth and provides an energising, exclusive and – most importantly – spontaneous environment for them to interact, showcase ideas and promote business endeavours. If this sounds like you, Pitch Club is calling for entrepreneurs to pitch to the Victorian public. Expressions of interest can be made at www.pitchclub.com. Pitch Club is also calling for investors to attend. Based on previous events, the opportunity is there to discover the next Facebook or Boost Juice and investors can’t afford to miss out. Pitch Club offers pitching training to aspiring pitchers and others (next workshop is scheduled for 12th June in Melbourne) as well as other options to help entrepreneurs grow their business. Visit www.pitchclub.com and select ‘Campus’. "Australia is well behind the rest of the world in terms of investment as a realistic source of funds for starting and growing private businesses. Pitch Club reinvents the way entrepreneurs and investors interact together and create a conducive supporting and fun environment for aspiring entrepreneurs to ‘pitch’ their business concept to potential investors," says Peter Christo, Pitch Club cofounder and MD Christo Partners. "Pitch Club aims to address this issue," he continued. "We are delighted to partner with Pitch Club in Melbourne and contribute the investor’s point of view," said Jordan Green, co-founder of Melbourne Angels and AAAI and Guest Speaker. "Pitch Club is an interesting formula that spices up business innovation and growth and we’re keen to see what comes out of it first hand." Pitch Club Melbourne Pitch Club is not a spectator sport.
