Sea Shepherd Black Sea Event

Sea Shepherd Black Sea Event - a fundraising cocktail function to be held at the Hilton Hotel here in Brisbane on Friday 19th February.

Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS) - an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organisation whose mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.

I'm sure you will have heard or viewed the wide media coverage in recent months documenting Sea Shepherd's active campaigns against illegal Japanese whaling in the Southern Ocean off Antarctica, including clashes on the high seas between Sea Shepherd's vessels (the Steve Irwin, the Ady Gil and the Bob Barker) and the Japanese whaling fleet - particularly the sinking of the high-tech trimaran speedboat, the Ady Gil, by one of the Japanese whaling boats during an interception last month.

Mr Ady Gil, the Ady Gil's benefactor who helped acquire the vessel, will be guest speaker at the Black Sea Event and will be joined by a host of other high-profile spokespeople including some celebrity guests. There will be entertainment, an auction (with great items on offer), plus games and prizes ... and proceeds of course go to a very worthy cause.

The cocktail event will be held in the Moreton/Redlands/Lockyer rooms on level 5 of the Hilton Hotel, 190 Elizabeth Street, from 6.30-9.30pm. Tickets cost $50 for adults (and $25 for children) and can be purchased on line via Green Tix - http://www.greentix.com.au/events/74362/Sea-Shepherd-Black-Sea-Fund-Raising-Event.
