Australians being ripped off on European holidays

Australians planning a holiday to Europe are being warned to watch out for scammers who advertise apartments in cities such as Paris at excellent rates.

Carolyn Schonafinger, founder of www.HolidaysToEurope.com.au said often the apartment doesn’t even exist and it’s not until the unsuspecting traveller arrives at their destination that they find out they’ve been had.

“A safe and secure way to book accommodation in Europe and know it’s fair dinkum, is to rent directly with an Australian who owns a property in Europe. More and more Aussies are buying holiday rental properties in Europe, particularly in France and Italy, and they love renting them out to fellow Aussies,” Mrs Schonafinger said.
