Independent Personal Trainers Unite For Waistline Challenge

Independent personal trainers from around Australia will be uniting during April to offer free health and fitness assessments as part of The Great Australian Waistline Challenge.

The free assessments will start from Monday 6th April, with 90 experienced personal trainers on hand at locations across Australia.

A waistline measurement of greater than 94cm for men or 80cm for women is an indicator of the internal fat deposits, which coat the heart, kidneys, liver and pancreas, and increase the risk of chronic disease. *

In announcing the waistline initiative today, Steve Thompson, the founder and director of personal training consortium Local Wellbeing said independent personal trainers performed an important role in helping Australians to undertake health and fitness assessments.

"In tough economic times, independent personal trainers often leave the fitness industry. Why? Many independent personal trainers struggle to compete with the advertising budgets of large fitness centres," Mr Thompson said.

"With more than 50% of Australians overweight, our society cannot afford to lose independent personal trainers. I have developed an innovative new solution to this problem.

"For a monthly fee of less than $100, personal trainers can share the same phone number, website and advertising material. This allows personal trainers to share business cards, flyers and promotional material throughout Australia.

"The cost savings derived from designing & printing advertising material in bulk are massive. Each personal trainer has exclusive access to 100% of new leads within their postcodes."

The public can take up the waistline challenge and trim their waistline in 100 days by calling 1300 TONE UP (1300 866 387) or by visiting www.waistlinechallenge.com.au
